In the shop, hygiene and presentation are closely linked: from handling products to cleaning your counter, here are a few practices to adopt and things to avoid.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Making a good impression<\/h3>\n<p>Ensuring a quality service in your shop means first of all taking care of appearances:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wear a\u00a0uniform\u00a0when working in the shop (preferably an apron, changed daily).<\/li>\n<li>Avoid wearing\u00a0bulky jewelry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What about wearing a mask?\u00a0<\/strong>Apart from specific health recommendations (<em>coronavirus<\/em>), wearing a mask is advisable as soon as symptoms as mild as a simple cold appear.<\/p>\n<h3>Hand hygiene: wash your hands as often as possible<\/h3>\n<p>In contact with your bakery products and means of payment,\u00a0hands\u00a0are the main sources of food contamination.\u00a0Remember to wash them:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As often as necessary, for 30 seconds (ideally with anti-bacterial soap).<\/li>\n<li>After any change of activity\u00a0(arriving at work, preparing sandwiches, cleaning, restocking, etc.).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Don\u2019t forget to keep your nails short and well-groomed and protect any cuts with a waterproof bandage (and if possible, a glove or finger cot).<\/p>\n<h3>Things to avoid<\/h3>\n<p>In spite of impeccable hand hygiene and immaculately clean clothes, certain actions (often carried out unconsciously!) can be a source of contamination. These include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Touching your face or mouth.<\/li>\n<li>Wiping your hands on your apron.<\/li>\n<li>Wetting your fingertip to pick up a sheet of paper or packing case.<\/li>\n<li>Blowing into a bag to open it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Providing top-quality service<\/h3>\n<p>From taking orders to taking payment, here are a few hygiene tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When serving\u00a0pastries, use\u00a0tongs\u00a0or a\u00a0cake slice\u00a0(wash as often as necessary).
